Auto insurance after a dui?

I had a dui on November 20th of last year in New Jersey. It was my first offense and my last. I will be getting my license back soon and will be looking for auto insurance. Can anyone give me some recomendations. I have no points on my license.

New Jersey No Threshold Option?

I presently carry the option to sue for pain and suffering on my NJ auto insurance. When this first came in about 30 years ago, it only made about $100 difference in my individual premium. Now, with 3 cars and 3 drivers, it is more than 25% of my total premium. It’s reached the point where I am considering whether to drop the option and give up the right to sue, unless the injury meets the specified qualifications. (If you are not familiar with this list, you can’t really answer my question.)

Do you have any experience in this area or any suggestions? Do you think it’s worth the expense of holding onto that “no threshold” option in the event of some crazy neck or back injury that can’t really be diagnosed or treated? Do you have any random thoughts about the “no threshold” option in New Jersey?

If you have a least or most favorite company, I’d be happy to hear about them, too.

Cost is NOT my only concern. I am just contemplating what to do to get my family (3 cars – 3 drivers) down below $8,000. I would not dream of going with some companies named and others not named, because their reputation for poor handling of claims and clients is horrible. I will stick with my “top tier” company, but I’m looking at cutting about $2,200 out of my premium if I drop the right to sue for non-scheduled injuries.

I have the maximum of any coverage offered, including PIP and disability, as you mentioned. This will factor into my decision.

Is it legal to have a registered car in New Jersey with Triple-A insurance?

Can I use Triple-A as my auto insurance since I know that I must have car insurance in NJ. Or do I need to have insurance like Geico, CURE, Progressive, or NJ Manufacturing.

Hi, I was under my mother’s car insurance, but she wont cover me anymore for financial reasons. I am about to purchase a 1998 Toyota Corolla and will be without insurance. I have no experience or knowledge with buying car insurance in New Jersey; can anyone give me a few guidelines to purchasing car insurance? I am 22 male and single. What does it cost me up front to purchase an insurance policy? I planned on spending $3000 on my car. Are there certain cars to buy that will lower my insurance costs? im 17 and get my provisional license 1 month before i turn 18 my mom doesnt want me on her plan at the risk of an accident and either gettin her dropped from the company or make the rate go up so i got to get my own policy is there any insurance companys in new jersey that will give me my own policy at the age of 17

My wife got a surcharge for $250.00 for next 3 years for not having an insurance card when cop pulled her over. She has the auto insurance but did not have the insurace card with her. Is she still responsible for the surcharge? It seems to be unfair

I live in New Jersey and the Insurance for an auto is so high here. I pay $168 a month for a 2003 ford explorer that is loaded. I have no tickets, my record is clean.
I also have lived in Utah and my Insurance was only $50 a month.
