Do you have to pay auto insurance when you get your liscence in New Jersey?

I have my permit and I do not have a car. If I got my liscence would I have to start paying insurance for anything? I live in New Jersey if that matters, please help

No, you do not pay for insurance until you have a car.

However, f you are driving someone else’s car, they do need to add you to their policy and that will cost someone extra.

no u only have to pay insurance if u have a car……..

** but since u probably live with ur parents……they will have to add u to their insurance as soon as u get a license….so their insurance will go way up….so yes u will have to carry insurance….
